Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

LaserJet M1536dnf MFP
Android 9.0 Pie

As of today, I cannot scan from an Android phone with a HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP using HP Smart on Android 10.

 

The error that is gives me is an alert box with the message "Scan Error Scan Unsuccessful"

 

I have tried:

  • Resetting the printer
  • Removing HP Smart, reinstallating
  • Resetting network connection

The M1536dnf will:

 

  1. Print from Android (using default print service)
  2. Scan from Windows 10 (via the HP Smart app)
  3. Print from Windows 10

It just will not scan from Android using HP Smart

Check for any updates for your Android device.

 

Also, Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

 

Try scanning.

I updated the firmware on the Firmware on the printer when I had the issue initially. I am also running the most recent version of the HP Smart on my Android device (HP Smart 7.3.149). I am still unable to scan from the HP Smart Android application.

I'd further suggest you contact the HP Support in your region for help.
