I recently purchased a new iMac with OSX Mojave that I am in the process of setting up. I own an Office Jet Pro 8710 that I have connected to my old iMac running Yosemite (10.10.5) and my work Surface Pro 4 using the HP software. On the new iMac, I installed the appropriate software that HP directed me to on the support page for the 8710, I installed the software, configured the printer to work via WiFi, ensured that the print cue was properly installed on the iMac. I can print from the iMac and I can scan using the HP Smart software. However when I go the the touch screen of the printer then select scan, then Computer in order to scan to computer the new iMac is not visible. I went throug the wifi setup again on the printer, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer on the iMac along with the HP Smart software. Scan to computer is still avilable on my other computers but not the new one and using this feature is primarily how I use the scanner. I also noticed that the HP utility on my old iMac is very different from the HP Smart utility that HP directed me to download for Mojave. Please Help!

A warm welcome to HP Community!
Enabling Scan to computer using HP Utility may resolve the issue. Here is how to do it:
1.) On your Mac, click Finder, click Applications, click the Hewlett-Packard or HP folder, then double-click HP Utility. (If HP Utility is not available, download and install the install HP Utility from here)
2.) Under Scan Settings, click Scan to Computer, then make sure the Enable Scan to Computer check box is selected.
3.) Try to scan.
Let me know how it goes!

Hi,
This worked! It's back the way I want it! One more question if I may. Is there a way to chang the default folder where your scan goes to when you use "scan to computer" other than the Pictures folder? Again, thanks for your help.
