This printer has worked fine for many years. I recently upgraded from Windows 7 64-bit to Windows 10 64-bit. I have not been able to get the scanning to work at all on the new system but I figured I just had a driver issue. Now I cannot copy at at all. It just says "Calibrating" for a few seconds and then nothing happens. I have already done the 60 second reset by unplugging everything. I tried to update the firmware but that does not work either. For some reason HP can recognize the printer during installation but cannot recognize it during the firmware update. The printer is on, no errors, and plugged in by USB cable. It seems coincidental to me that the printer just died on me right when I upgraded so I think something else is going on. Please let me know if there is anything I can try or if I just need to get a new printer.

Just an update. I found someone with a similar problem in another posting. They recommended to remove all of the HP software in control panel and remove under devices/printers in control panel as well, then reinstall. I did this and I am still having the same problem.

Refer to this document: https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-mfp-m127-series/5396666/model/5303419/document/... for Resolving Copy Problems.
If you have tried all the steps in the above document and if the issue persists, This could be a hardware issue.
I would personally suggest you contact our HP Support.

I tried to contact HP support but I have no option to since the printer is out of warranty. Do I have any options or should I assume the printer is dead? I did all the trouble-shooting and it is the same, not working.

Unfortunately, it's a hardware issue. You can contact our shopping team to see if there is a trade-in option available.
