Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).
Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw

This is what I do: Insert 14" legal sheet into ADF, press Copy, press Document, press Settings (gear icon), press Resize, Select and press Legal to Letter (72%), press Home and press Copy to begin the copying process.

The Letter sized paper is produced at end of process, but the bottom 3 inches do not appear.  The printer crops the bottom off.

I traded an M477fdw for this so the Control Panel appears a little different, but essentially the same.

The HP Data Sheet shows Scan size up to 216 x 356 mm, and the Copier Smart Software Features indicate the capability to, "Reduce/enlarge from 25 to 400%......."

I'm aware I may be the human error causing this, but I need to resolve this and also need instructions if it's caused by my error.  Thanks for your help.
