iOS 12 - 12.0.1

Hello,

I have a HP Laserjet M277n connected to my main network with an ethernet cable. I can print docs from my Macbook Pro (OSX 10.14.1) and scan also with the HP Easy Scan utility.

On my IPad I have installed HP Smart and connected to the same network from a wifi access point. From HP Smart on the IPad I can see my printer, query it for ink level, see the settings, everything works perfectly BUT SCAN. Each time I ask to scan something, I select "scanner" as option, tap the blue button. A popup is displayed with a message "an incident happend while scanning". I cannot figure what is wrong as the utility correctly detect the printer and query settings, the ipad prints documents to it ...

Can you help me to troubleshoot this ?

thank you!

A warm welcome to HP Forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

Most of the iOS scanning issues can be resolved by simply performing a network power reset. Here is how to do it:

1.) Turn off your iPad, Printer and Router.

2.) Unplug the power from the back of router, wait for 10 -15 seconds.

3.) Connect the power cable back to router, turn on the router first. Wait till the router to initialize.

4.) Turn on Printer and iPad, try to scan.

Let me know how it goes!

Thank you very much for your suggestion but unfortunately there is still the same issue such as there is something going wrong with this printer and the scanning feature from iOS version. I have tried from an iPhone and another iPad from my wife and it is behaving the same ...
