LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw
iOS

I cannot scan with the HP Smart app on iOS with my Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw. I get the following error:

There was a problem during scanning. Checke the scanner and try again.

I tried it on both an iPhone 6s and an iPad 2. The same error always pops up regardless of scan settings. Scanning from a computer or from the printer itself works fine.

Please help!

I've figured out the problem. Apparently scanning from HP Smart app would not work if HTTPS enforcement is enabled on the printer. Once HTTPS enforcement is turned off, app scanning works again.

Hi,

If that happens from 2 devices the first thing I would deny is a network issue..

On the printer front panel tap the Network Icon, then tap WiFi Direct and ensure it is on, note its name and password,

From your iOS device select Setting > WiFi and connect to the WiFi Direct network which starts with HP or Direct.

Now try scanning and check if you are able to do so once bypassing your home network.

Please let me know if you are still getting the same results once diretly connected to the printer or not.

Hi Shlomi,

I tried connecting to the WiFi Direct network, but still got the same error.

Please ensure the latest firmware is installed:

Please let me know if that may make any difference,
