Solved!

Cannot scan to Mac from printer

HP Recommended
HP Officejet Pro 9015e
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hi. I can't seem to scan to my Mac from my All-in-one using the control panel. I get a message on the control panel that says "Setup Required". But I've already set everything up. And reset the printer, removed the software, rebooted, etc. Everything is up to date. I'm actually using Mac OS Catalina.

The HP Smart app on my Mac does not include an option to enable "print to computer."  I can use Image Capture from the computer to scan, but I'd like to be able to use the printer control panel to scan to specific computers. Thanks!

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

The Scan to Computer feature os only available on Windows, not on macOS.

To scan from the printer front panel you may set and use Smart Tasks from the HP Smart app, these can be used from the printer front panel for your printer:

Another alternative to scan from the printer front panel to a Mac, for a printer connected to the network, would be setting and using Scan to Email or Scan to Folder:
