I was assuming that whatever band was in use or not in use was common to everything including my washing machine if it was capable.  If you have any info on the printer side, I would appreciate it. Thank you!!!!!

Finding out more info.  Looks like from the printer side you can select either one or both.   From you description it will select different SSID's.
