Product: LaserJet Pro MFP M426fdw
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

I downloaded some type of upgrade from HP and now the printer works - after a few hours.   But, the scanner keeps saying the auto feed is empty - even though I go to settings and check the 'flatbed".   So, I can no longer scan.

Please use Image Capture as a workaround, HP Easy Scan is not currently supported on Catalina:

I have been using the Apple Image for scanning on my HP Laserjet M227, but is there a fix for Catalina yet? 

 

Is there going to be a fix ever?

macOS 10.15.3 (released 1/28/2020) contains the fix for this issue.  Once updated HP Easy Scan will be able to scan from the glass or the ADF as normal.

 

Scan to Computer is also fixed with 10.15.3.

 

I did notice that if the printer is in sleep mode, some times an error will be reported.  But if you wake the printer by inserting a page in the ADF or touching the screen you will be able to scan normally.

Yes   now works perfectly with my LaserJet Pro MFP 426fdw--- I guess in future, I will wait a few months prior to installing a new OS.   Thanks
