The options to do this are limited - and perhaps won't do what you want.
That said, you can create a Shortcut in HP Smart to "save" to a few standard locations, including (for Example) OneDrive.
If you enable to "Quick Action" bits at the bottom of the Shortcut / Edit Shortcut options, you can call the shortcut, use the Presets saved in that shortcut and skip some of the "after scan" processing bits.
HP Smart Shortcuts (formally Smart Tasks) for Windows and HP Smart Mobile
Where available, Smart Tasks can be configured for several print tasks.
- Print: Send a print job to your printer.
- Email: Send an email message or attachments.
- Save to: Save a file to a cloud storage account, such as Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive.

In the case of the example,
The scan ends up in OneDrive > HP Smart > Scan

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunatelyyou were correct. Save locations are not where I want them. Astounding that there isn't even the option to save to user defined location. More astounding is that isn't an option in settiings to save in user defined location.
All apps I have ever used provide such an option.
Who created HP Smart? It isn't that smart.
