Somewhere in the passed I changed the genric name for scans from scan000X to a name I would rather not use anymore. But I probably did this before switching to Windows 10, because I knew where to change it in Windows 7 (and earlier versions). How do I change the generic name for scans (again) in Windows 10?

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP forum.
1. First, you need to ensure that you have your FULL feature software installed.
2. Open the HP Printer Assistant
3. Go to Scan a Document
4. Go to "Advanced Settings"
6. Go to "File" (or Destination)
There should be an option to change the generic name.
Hope that helps!
