I currently have the following problem with my HP Officejet Pro 9730e.

 

I have set up so-called shortcuts on this device to upload documents to a cloud-based scan destination via scan. Setting up everything worked, but I now have the issue that, when I try to send a double-sided document from the printer's display using the document feeder to one of my cloud-based scan destinations, I can no longer select any options in the settings before scanning, such as double-sided scanning or changing the format from Letter to A4, etc.

 

 

I've tried everything, from restoring factory settings to deleting and setting everything up again, but unfortunately, none of this has helped, and I suspect a firmware issue.

 

Could this be the case, or am I the only one experiencing this problem?

 

I have already contacted HP Support in the chat, but they couldn’t really help me with this issue. Maybe someone here can help me solve the problem.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

 

I see that you are facing an issue with 2 sided scanning from your Printer.

Please follow the steps below to fix the issue.

 

A) Perform a power drain.

 

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

 

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

 

C) If the issue still persists, refer to the below steps to further troubleshoot.

 

Prepare the Document: Place your document in the automatic document feeder (ADF) if your printer has one, or on the scanner glass.

 

Use HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Select the scanning option.
  • Look for the duplex or double-sided scanning setting and enable it.

Using Printer Control Panel:

  • On the printer's control panel, select the "Scan" option.
  • Choose the "Scan to Computer" or similar option.
  • Select "Duplex" or "Double-sided" if available.

Scan Settings: Adjust any other settings like resolution or file type, then start the scan.

 

Finish Scanning: After the first side scans, the printer will usually prompt you to flip the document or automatically continue with duplex scanning.
