Color LaserJet Pro MFP M180nw

My Color LaserJet Pro MFP M180nw scanner was creating distorted images in some areas of the sheet.

After searching for a solution to my problem, I came across a post of a user MarkF88 describing exactly the same thing (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Scanning-Faxing-Copying/Scanner-arm-jumps-while-scanner-resulting-in-d...). In fact, he had even posted a video to show more accurately what was happening  (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/8w1wfMjAFTY)

I tried with the recommendation of a user that offered a solution on that post, reinforcing the cable with a thin sheet of some material similar to Mylar but I didn't have good results.

The problem was solved by detaching the flat cable from the base and stretching it slightly, and repositioning it this time parallel to the edge of the scanner module.

These are the steps to reach the cable:

Lifting the scanner cover and taking out the two screws

Remove the lock on the arm that holds the scanner module in the open position. It is a very simple mechanism, be careful not to damage the plastic part that functions as a lock.

Take out this cover

After removing the plastic cover that protects the flat cable, close the scanner module at 30° and move it to the right to remove it from the hinges.

Now you can remove the 5 torx screws that hold the cover with the glass on top.
