@Hayley54, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your app is unable to locate your printer even though both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure that your printer is turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone. The printer should not be in "Sleep" or "Power Save" mode.

Restart Devices:

  • Try restarting your printer, phone, and router. This often helps in resolving connectivity issues.

Check App Settings:

  • Make sure that you have the latest version of the app installed on your phone.
  • Verify that the app has the necessary permissions to access the network.

Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi:

  • Go to your printer’s control panel and check the network settings.
  • Re-enter the Wi-Fi credentials to ensure there are no errors.

Check Network Security:

  • Ensure there are no security settings on your router that might be blocking access for either device.
  • Sometimes changing the Wi-Fi channel on your router can help improve connectivity.

Use Printer's IP Address:

  • You can try manually connecting to the printer using its IP address. Usually, this can be found on the printer’s network configuration page.

Firewall and Antivirus:

  • Check if any firewall or antivirus settings on your mobile device are preventing the connection.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
