HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3775

The product is HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3775. Whenever I try to use the copy button for document sizes like letter and smaller, the print-out size is accurate, but whenever I try to copy document sizes like legal and bigger sizes, it is not accurate and it will  look like "img_2" ("img_1" is the original document). Is there any way to customize these settings? img_1img_1

I also have this problem with the scanner where there is this black vertical line all across the document, the black line wont be visible though when copying documents directly.

p.s. pls dont mind the other texts in the images, i used a scratch paper. thanks for helping me 😆

HI @Swalla,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When copying documents larger than letter size with your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3775, and the output is not accurate, there are a few settings and adjustments you can try to ensure that your copies match the original size more closely. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you address this issue:

1. Check Copy Settings on the Printer

Access Copy Settings:

  • On your printer’s control panel, press the Copy button.
  • Look for an option to adjust settings such as Size, Fit to Page, or Reduce/Enlarge.

Select the Correct Paper Size:

  • Ensure that the paper size setting on the printer matches the size of the paper you are using. If copying a legal-size document, make sure the printer is set to legal size.

Fit to Page Options:

  • Some printers have an option like Fit to Page or Resize. Make sure this is set according to your needs. Sometimes, turning off Fit to Page can help if it's causing distortion.

2. Use the HP Smart App

Open HP Smart App:

  • If you have the HP Smart app installed on your computer or mobile device, open it.

Select Copy Option:

  • Choose the Copy function within the app. You should have options to adjust the size and layout.

Adjust Settings:

  • Look for options related to Paper Size, Copy Size, or Scaling. Set these according to the size of the document you are copying.

3. Check Printer Paper Settings

Set Paper Size:

  • Make sure that the paper size loaded in the printer’s input tray matches the size selected in the copy settings.

Paper Type and Size:

  • For larger documents, ensure that the paper size is correctly set in the printer settings, especially if you’re using paper sizes like legal.

4. Update Printer Firmware and Drivers

  1. Check for Updates:
    • Sometimes firmware or driver updates can resolve issues with copying and printing. Visit the HP Support website and check if there are updates available for your DeskJet Ink Advantage 3775.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
