Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I use the document feeder, I get a vertical black line on the right. This is whether I scanned or print. I have cleaned all glass and rebooted several times but still shows.

Cleaning is needed here:

The distance is about 2.24 cm from the right edge of the glass.

This black line is created only with the ADF and not with the flatbed, right?

are you sure both Glass surfaces!

 

What is the exact printer name?

My printer/scanner is a Lazer Jet Pro MFP M148 fdw. I only know of 2 glasses. Both directly under the lid. The narrow on the left and the document glass to the right.

Scan a blank sheet and upload here

A magnifying glass helps to be able to identify the cause.

My printer saves all as pdf and has no settings to change otherwise. Unfortunately this site does not download pdfs. It's just a black straight line going from extreme top to extreme bottom

First download only these two software packages:

  1. HP LaserJet Pro MFP M148fdw Printer Full Software Solution 
  2. Readiris Pro 

Then install the full solution software first

After a reboot, install the OCR software.

Now the scan software "HP Scan" should also be available.
