Deskjet 2752 copy button just prints test page

I have a Deskjet  2752.  I place a copy on the glass in the front right corner of the glass.  Hitting either the color or black/white copy button keeps producing the test page.  It does NOT make copy of the document on the glass. How do I resolve this issue?

Which test page is printed? may it an Alignment sheet?

May you see an A icon or any other indication on the printer led?

Generally, an alignment process must be completed by placing the printed page on the flatbed and pressing Black or Color copy to complete the process by scanning the printed sheet, not completing it as expected may result reprinting the page and completing the process by completing the steps as listed on the printed page.

Yes, I believe it is the alignment page which keeps getting printed instead of the actual document on the glass.  There is no A on  or other indication on printer led.
