Hi all.
I have a HP Deskjet 4100 printer / scanner.
I regularly scan calculation sheets which have a faint grid in the background (like graph paper) and however much I play around with the scan edit settings, I can't get the grid to show up. It just comes out plain white.
I've tried scanning / saving it as a photo rather than a document, but nothing seems to work.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
Thanks

Hi JohnC64
search for the following intelligent settings:
a) Cleanup background
deactivate this setting
b) Exposure for Colour and Gray
play with these sliders.
If these settings are not available, then try this Solution:
- Download only this file: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
- Close all programs
Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the msi.
OPTIONAL:
- Add HP Scan Extended shortcut to Taskbar / Send to Desktop / Pin to Start
- Open File Explorer > Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP Scan Extended\bin
- Right-Click on "HPScan.exe" > Select Pin to Taskbar / Send to Desktop / Pin to Start
Kind Regards

I found a setting called Auto-Enhancements and turned this off. That has made a big difference.
I'll play around with the other settings and see if I can "fine tune" it.
Thanks for you help. I appreciate it
