Do HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printers have memory/storage encryption? I'm interested in finding out if the OfficeJet Pro line of devices, like the 8710, have onboard encryption on their motherboards On by default OR if you can enable them. Scenario: if the printer is broken we do not want the memory (i.e. stored faxes, to be easily recoverable. So far my research is leading me to believe/conclude that non-enterprise printers, like the 8710, have NO encryption option. I found this link regarding the subject but it seems to only address enterprise solutions: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02164443.

No, it does not have any encryption. That is the reason why we recommend the customers to perform a factory reset on the printer before handing over the printer to someone else or before sending it for recycling.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

@over_9000, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
These printers do not have memory. They do not store user information. Only user-defined settings and fax contacts may be stored. You may always reset the printer to its factory defaults to erase these data from the printer.
Go to Setup > Tools > Restore factory defaults
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

@Kumar0307 Thank you for the welcome! I appreciate the response and the tip/instructions.
I had a follow up question. Sorry I might be mishmashing questions. I was looking through the manual and on page 55, it mentions that faxes that are not printed are stored in memory. Does the memory storing those faxes have encryption? http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05048181
