We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

This is a Document Feeder issue.  HP Scan calls the problem, that.

 

An 11-page document fed from the Document Feeder, scans all 11 pages.

 

However, the feeder does not recognize that it has completed feeding the last page.  It appears to "think" there is another page to feed.  It continues trying to run a non-existent page through the document feeder.  Finally, the error "Document Feeder issue" is signaled, through the HP Smart program.

 

The printer is a PhotoSmart 8710.  New color print cartridges were added $$ but unused.  A new XL black cartridge was added, very very lightly used.

 

The unit must successfully feed via Document Feeder, as the highest priority requirement.  Printing is not even secondary to this, it is lower.

 

Prefer not to buy another printer, primarily for time loss, but especially if the ink cartridges in the 8710 cannot be re-used in a different printer.

The document rollers were cleaned as part of the troubleshooting.  This had no effect, the Document Feeder Issue error continues.
