@Genine, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're facing a persistent "Document Feeder Jam" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer, even though there's no paper in the feeder. This is a known issue and can often be resolved with a few targeted steps.

Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you fix it:

Double-Check for Hidden Paper or Debris

Even tiny scraps of paper or dust can trigger the jam sensor.

  • Open the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) cover.
  • Use a flashlight to inspect for any small bits of paper or debris.
  • Gently remove anything you find.

Clean the ADF Rollers and Sensors

Dust or residue on the rollers or sensors can cause false jam errors.

  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Clean the rollers and the transparent strip (sensor area) inside the ADF.
  • Let it dry completely before closing the cover.

"Floss" the Paper Path

Sometimes a sensor flag gets stuck.

  • Take a stiff sheet of paper (like cardstock or a folder strip), about 1 inch wide.
  • Insert it into the ADF input tray and gently push it through the paper path.
  • Move it back and forth to dislodge any stuck sensor or debris.

Reset the Printer

A full power reset can clear false errors.

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the wall and wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and power it on.

Update Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause persistent errors.

Factory Reset (if all else fails)

If the issue persists, a factory reset may help:

  • On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
  • Note: This will erase all custom settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
