Does HP Smart Task require a mobile device to send a scan via email from a PC?

I setup a smart task on my PC using HP Smart to email a scan. I started the task and everything seemed to go fine but no email was sent. Notifications show the task completed. Just curious how its suppose to work.

Thank you

Well I  have read that, but when I tried to send my email smart task from Windows 10,  the scan windows came up, I hit scan and it said it finished, but no email was sent, so Im curious how that part works. Does it send via my default email app on Windows 10, cause it never triggered the app to open.  Have you successfully used the Email smart task in Windows 10?

Thank you

This might require one to one interaction to fix the issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.

Please also check your spam folder to make sure your scans are not getting there incorrectly, also try viewing the entire email inbox, in Gmail, for example, click on More and then all All Mail and check.
