Hi @cactus80,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out. Based on your description, your HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer is not copying and instead repeatedly prints a Printer Information Report. Let’s go through what might be happening and how to resolve it.

This behaviour typically occurs when the copy button is pressed in combination with the Information (“i”) button, or if the printer misinterprets the input due to a stuck button or firmware glitch.

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn the printer off, and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Try to copy again using the Copy Black or Copy Color button only.

2. Ensure You're Pressing the Right Button

  • On the HP ENVY 6055e, to copy:
    • Black & White Copy: Press the Black Copy button (icon looks like two sheets, one dark).
    • Color Copy: Press the Color Copy button (icon is two sheets, one shaded with a color dot).
  • Do not press the "i" (Information) button, as it triggers a Printer Information Report.

3. Check for Stuck Buttons

  • Make sure none of the buttons are stuck or being pressed simultaneously.
  • Wipe around the control panel gently with a soft cloth.

4. Update Printer Firmware (if possible)

Your macOS 10.13 is a bit older, and the HP Smart app may not be fully supported. But if you have access to a newer macOS or Windows device:

  • Use it to install the HP Smart app and check for firmware updates.
  • Update the firmware if prompted.

5. Reset Copy Settings via Embedded Web Server (Optional)

  • Print a Network Configuration Page using the Information + Resume button together.
  • Find the printer’s IP address from the page.
  • Enter the IP address into a web browser to access the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  • Navigate to the Settings > Preferences section and reset to defaults if available.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
