After dowloading HP Smart 5.0.6, the duplex copy function stopped working on my HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-In-One printer. The duplex printing still works. I now receive an error when I set the copy to 2-sided that says: "The selected paper 0r tray cannot be used for copying both sides of a page."
Any ideas how to resolve this?

Hi,
make sure your paper settings are correct, this is unlikely to be related to any HP Smart update as this is a direct hardware feature...
Open and close the paper tray and evaluate the shown prompt.
What exact paper type and size are listed on the printer screen?
Be aware that duplex printing is only supported on Plain Paper and select paper sizes.

Thank you, Shlomil.
I figured out the issue. You are correct that it was an issue separate from the HP Smart update. I had difficulty downloading HP Smart and had to reset a number of preferences and I apparently selected photo paper instead of plain paper on the printer itself. Set-up was correct on my computer screen. I was surprised to learn that the 2 don't sync.
Really appreciate your taking time to respond.
All is good.
