Hi, we purchased HP smart tank 7305. Before we had OfficeJet 6950. With the OfficeJet 6950 we were able to scan two-sided documents by using the ADF. The software of the printer/scanner sorted the scanned pages automatically.
For HP smart tank 7305 I do not find a specific driver. The HP smart does not seem to support such "duplex scanning". Alternative programs like NAPS2 seem to not work - possibly the WIA is blocked if connected via LAN.
How can I achieve duplex scan with HP smart tank 7305?

Welcome to the HP Community --
Unfortunately, this printer does not support automatic 2-sided scanning.
| Scanning Options (ADF) | Single-sided |
The printer supports automatic 2-sided Printing on supported paper sizes / types.
It's not nearly the same thing.
| Duplex Print Options | Automatic |
| Standard Media Sizes (duplex, Imperial) | Letter; Executive; Not supported for borderless photo |
| Standard Media Sizes (duplex, metric) | A4; B5; Not supported for borderless photo |

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I know (and knew before we purchased the printer) that the AFD does not provide duplex functionality directly. What I meant is a software sided support for scanning two-sided documents. i.e. first side of a pile of sheets is scanned in first go, then we take the pile of sheets manually, put it on the ADF again - in different orientation to start scanning the second side of each sheet. The software (as with the past model) then should automatically sort the pages. A very simple solution with great effect. As said, was already implemented years ago with specific HP drivers, so it is hard to understand why such software supported solution is not available in the new HP smart application.

You are welcome.
True - HP Scan (previous post video) does support a software Page Sides = 2-sided (manual) option.
Your objections that HP Smart does not support the same type of feature are valid --
Unfortunately, at this writing, the HP Smart / HP App application that must serve many different models of printers does not include all same robust features as does the full driver printer software crafted for the particular printer models.
-------------------------------------------------------------
"Why?"
HP has not said -- Dragon opinion based on my own experience --
Code can do anything it's told -- additional complexity demands additional lines of code.
Not all devices and networks are built to handle larger code at the same (or an acceptable) rate.
Someone also has to manage extra coding added for software related features.
As application coding becomes more efficient, "do it all" applications will do better when supporting a wider variety of features.
-------------------------------------------------------------
What to do?
Should you wish to take advantage of the Page Sides = 2-sided (manual) feature (with automatic Sort), install the full driver and use the HP Scan
OR
Install the HP Universal Scan software and use the new format HP Universal Scan software.
