HP Ink Tank Wireless 416
Microsoft Windows 11

During photocopy my scan head is not able to scan last 1.5cm of the scan area and it comes back without scanning it.  I'm getting incomplete copies. Scan head works fine when I use the to scan the documents but during photcopy or colorcopy it gives the problem. I recently changed my both printheads after that i noticed the problem. Any solution to the problem?

Hi @RAM1236,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the alignment or calibration of your HP Ink Tank Wireless 416 printer. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Check for Obstructions:

  • Ensure there is no paper or debris obstructing the path of the scan head. Sometimes, small objects or dust can interfere with the scan head's movement.

Clean the Scan Head:

  • Gently clean the scan head and the glass scanner bed using a soft, lint-free cloth and a small amount of glass cleaner or water. Avoid using too much liquid, as this can damage the printer.

Check Scan Head Alignment:

  • Sometimes, after changing printheads, the alignment can be off. Check if there's an option to align the scan head in your printer settings or control panel. Follow the on-screen instructions if available.

Perform a Printer Calibration:

  • Most printers have a calibration or alignment utility that can be accessed through the printer's control panel or software. Running this utility might correct the issue with the scan head.

Update Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. HP often releases updates that can fix bugs or improve performance. Check the HP support website for any available updates for your printer model.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that the settings for copying or scanning are configured correctly. Sometimes, specific settings can affect the scan area.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset any temporary issues.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue with the scan head not reaching the last part of the scan area.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
