Hi.

Recently reset up my printer after many months of no use. Got the printer set up and working.

When turn on scanner goes mad for few minutes then get an E5 error code, have disconnected and reconnected power but still have error.

Pinter is working but scanner tells me it has jobs in progress.

Advice found is to uninstall printer but from laptop and I only connect to printer from phone or tablet.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting an E5 error, I am glad to assist you.

Turn off the printer, wait, and then turn it on again.

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
  • Wait for the printer to fully turn on. The Edge lighting will turn from green to blue-white/white.

Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates
