HP ENVY 6430e All-in-One Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Easy Scan is suddenly not working and I see here that the most up to date MacOS (Ventura) which has been out since last October is not even listed!

I had no problems until the past week,  then suddenly

a)The scanner (using EasyScan) is crashing - intermittently and with no apparent pattern, using both glass plate and sheet feeder

b) The sheet feeder is now not working at all.  I have checked that it is not the hardware (prints OK) and I can scan (laboriously) using HP Smart.

So I have come to the conclusion that the problem is with HP Easy Scan, and now am beginning to wonder if there is a support problem for the current MacOS. I redownloaded the Easy Scan app, but this has made no difference.  I have of course rebooted, disconnected the printer etc , also to no avail.

After over 20 years of Canon printers/scanners, I switched to HJP a year ago and until now have been satisfied with this decision.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting scanning issues, I am glad to assist you.

You can use the HP Smart app to scan which is compatible with MacOS (Ventura).

Follow these steps to fix the issue:-

Uninstall the printer driver

  • On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Printers & Scanners in the sidebar. (You may have to scroll down.) Control-click the printer in the list on the right, choose Remove printer, then click Remove Printer.

Install the printer using HP Smart app

Here are the steps:- Click here

Keep me posted.
