I have set up and installed my new OfficeJet Pro 9010 all-in-one printer with MacBook Pro running macOS 10.15 Catalina.
Printing and copying function seems to work fine but I am unable to use the 'scan to computer' function direct from the printer menu. I can scan from the MacBook (to the printer) using the Mac printer utility and/or the printer web page but not from the printer menu screen.
I get the message on the printer screen "Set up required.....Use the printer home page (ip address) to set up feature on Mac OS computers".
On the printer (web) home screen under Scan>Webscan, webscan is enabled but there is nothing to indicate how I 'set up' the scan from printer to computer function.
I have updated the latest firmware.
I saw a previous post on this very same issue from a few months back but that thread now seems to be dead and without resolution.
There may be a work around to scan but I particularly want to scan from the printer - and as someone has said on the earlier post - an advertised feature that doesn't work. This is hugely disappointing and frustrating on a brand new and (supposedly) up to date product.
Can anyone help please?
With thanks.

Hi,
Scan to Computer feature is supported on Windows OS, it is not supported on macOS with your printer.
You may scan from the Mac computer, not from the printer.
You may set up other features as a workaround to scan from the printer front panel if the printer is connected to the network, you may set up Scan to Folder, Scan to Email or use Smart Tasks from the printer front panel.

Hi ShlomiL
Thanks for your reply. That is appreciated but if that is the HP position, it's not at all helpful. My simple question is why isn't it supported? This printer is advertised as mac compliant but there is no rider to say, ah, but some of the features don't work. Mac is a common enough OS to expect things to work. Is HP working on developing this?
