Envy 4524
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Running Windows 10 64bit, Envy 4524 with  EN4520_Full_WebPack_1122 software.

Printer not listing the paper size I want to use for scaning.

I have a A5 document I want to scan, then save and print.

A5 paper size is not listed for scaning to be saved or printing.

Yet A5 is listed for printing from MS Word etc.

When the A5 document/image is scanned, whichever paper I select it is out of proportion or parts missing.

I want to print to the same size A5 paper which I can select for printing, but the results are out of proportion or parts missing because I have not been able to select A5 during the scan.

How can I add the A5 paper size to the list and others.

thanks

It is not obvious that the HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer series supports creating a Custom Form for the A5 paper size:

Print Driver Settings Guide (Windows)

If it does so, find the instructions here:

HP document:  HP Printers - Creating Custom Paper Sizes

Custom Form Setup:

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers >

Left-Click on your Printer one time to highlight >

Left-Click Print Server properties

Note:  If the printer / printer software does not support custom paper sizes, the form will not show up in the Paper Size selection list in spite of having created the form.

For scanning, try the following software:

  • HP Scan Extended Exceptional standalone free scan program:  Single, Multiple scans, image and PDF scans, Auto-Crop!  Download, save, and install to use.

Set the Page Size to "Auto Detect Size"

General Example

Note that the 'detect size' setting works with both image / pdf scanning
