I recently bought an HP Envy Inspire 7900e series all-in-one printer/scanner/copier.  When I push the Scan button on the printer, it asks me to select the computer to which to scan.  There are three entries...my current computer is listed twice and the third is "My computer is not shown."  If I choose the first of the entries showing my current computer name, it fails and tells me I need to download software which I already have downloaded.  The second entry showing my current computer works.  How do I delete the duplicate, non-working entry from that screen so I don't have to remember this each time I want to use the scan feature?

 I'd be happy to assist you  

 

I understand you would like to delete the computer entries on the printer.

 

 To resolve the issue, we would have to uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.

 

--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.

--->Select your HP printer.

--->Select Uninstall.

--->In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.

--->In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

--->Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

--->Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

--->Click on the Drivers tab.

--->Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.

--->Select OK.

--->Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

--->Close Devices and Printers.

 

And then reinstall the printer's full-featured drivers from the software and drivers page
