1. Use the HP App’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

This tool is designed to gently probe and repair scanning issues, especially when the scan window doesn’t appear or the printer seems unresponsive.

  • Download or open the HP App on your Windows or Mac device.
  • In the app:
    • On Windows, click the wrench icon in the lower-left corner.
    • On Mac, click the printer dropdown in the top menu bar.
  • Select Diagnose & Fix and follow the on-screen steps.

 

2. Confirm Connection and App Setup

Sometimes the scan window won’t appear if the printer isn’t properly linked to your device.

  • Ensure your printer is connected via Wi-Fi or USB and shows as “Ready” in the HP App.
  • Open the HP App and confirm your printer is selected.
