HP PageWide Ent Color 556dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have 2 units of HP PageWide Ent Color 556dn  with the same problem. Error 49.38.07 even after reinstalling the firmware from https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pagewide-enterprise-color-556-series/7835665. And I took the error logs after reinstalling the firmware.

If the units are stand alone with no connections either usb or network do they start normally? If yes then you may have a computer sending print jobs with the wrong driver and it might be a system that you are unaware of. The way we typically test this is to boot disconnected from network and if unit comes to ready, we print a config page to confirm the printer works. Then we will plug in the network cable and see if the error pops up. Often "processing job" will flash for a second when this happens, an indication that some computer on your network has a stale print job in queue. If you can catch it before the printer crashes by pressing the "x" on the printer you might be able to clear the job, if not you will need to track down the offending PC.

If the devices 49 even when disconnected it would indicate that there is either a hardware problem or the firmware is corrupted. First step here would be to format the harddrive and reinstall firmware. This is done through the preboot menu.
