I've had this problem for over 6 months and I've tried several of the same tips others have used and posted but the problem still exists.  When I use HPSmart, it tells me "Problem connecting to scanner. The scanner is busy. Wait for the scanner to finish and then try again, or close any apps that are using the scanner. And on the printer face, it basically says the same thing. How do I correct this problem.

 

I am able to use the printer to print documents but I'm unable to use the scanner. How do I fix this problem?

@maw7163, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

 

I understand you are not able to scan. To assist you better, try making a standalone copy from the flatbed glass and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

  • Which device are you using to scan?
  • How is the printer connected to the computer?
