I cannot scan from the control panel of my printer to my pc because I keep getting an error message that says the HP scan application is currently in use with another task or another user on this computer. My pc is connected to my printer and I can print. I am able to find my computer on the list when I initiate the scan, so the two are connected. I have no other users on this computer and I can find any task that is currently running that would affect the printer. Help!

You can try the following:
- Power drain: turn printer off, unplug it from the outlet, even when printer is unplugged keep the Power button pressed for about 2 minutes. Then plug it back and turn it on and test.
- Reboot computer: sometimes computers leave some processes running in background, hence the message that is apparently still in use.
- Try to scan from the computer itself: use any scanning software of your preference (HP Scan, HP Smart, HP Scan and Capture, even Windows scan if you want) and try.
If your printer is still under warranty, you can call tech support for further help. If your printer is out of warranty, you cant take it to a certified repair center for further inspection.
