If your HP DeskJet 4120e All-in-One Printer is no longer able to send or receive faxes on Windows 11, here are some steps and resources to help you troubleshoot:

Basic Fax Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check Phone Line Connection:
    • Ensure the phone line is connected directly to the printer’s LINE port.
    • Avoid using splitters or VOIP lines if possible.
       
  2. Run Fax Test from Printer:
    • On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Fax Setup > Run Fax Test.
    • Review the report for any failed tests and follow the suggested fixes.
       
  3. Send a Test Fax:
    • Use HP’s free Fax Test Service by sending a fax to 1-888-HPFaxme (1-888-473-2963).
    • If successful, you’ll receive a return fax within 5–7 minutes.
       
  4. Adjust Fax Settings:
    • Lower the fax speed (Standard or Slow).
    • Enable Error Correction Mode (ECM).
    • Try sending in black and white instead of color.
       
  5. Check for Interference:
    • Remove other devices (modems, answering machines) from the line.
    • Use the original two-wire phone cord that came with the printer.
