Fax and scan to a Mac

I need a multifunction printer/fax that will do two things:

1. Scan a document to a Mac in pdf format (I think most will do this nowadays).

2. Forward an incoming or received fax to a Mac in pdf format and not print the fax.

Are there any HP multifunction printer/fax that will do these two things?

Hi,

You may get digital fax to Mac with the Officejet 5200 printer and the Officejet Pro  6960 / 6970 printers.

Also the HP Officejet Pro 8710 / 8720 capable of a such, those support receiving faxes to your Mac or to your email as well.

Scanning can be done by any HP all-in-one device indeed.

I ended up getting the HP 6978.  It does send the fax to the Mac. However, I was hoping it would do that without printing the fax too.  We are a mostly paperless and it seems like a waste to print out faxes just to recycle them.  Is there a way to set it to not print the fax, but just send it to the computer?

Any way to send a document (PDF) digitally from a connected computer via the print dialgo but to the fax port and send it as a fax instead of printing it? I have an all-in-one it definitely does NOT WORK with - HP OfficeJet 8620 ePrint...

Hi @henryseiden,

Please install the HP Universal Fax Driver as following:

1. Download below driver to a folder:
   https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL60874/ds-146586-1/HPUFD_Installer_2.0.86.0.zip
2. Extract the HPUFD_Installer.zip file to the location you like.
3. Navigate to the location where the files were extracted
4. Right-click setup.exe select Run as Administrator, then follow the onscreen instructions

Now you should be able to print using the HP Universal Fax Driver queue, you may check the bottom checkbox to add a static fax queue for your printer.
