The fax loops on phone busy. It will not let me cancel. Factory reset options, including special resets (4 return on printer screen) will not operate while fax in trying to send. How can I cancel fax or reset printer?

I can give very limited advice on this printer...
Have you tried unplugging both the phone line and the power cable to the printer?
Restart option in this document:
Printer Turns Off Unexpectedly or Repeatedly
Step 2... Leave the printer unplugged a while - long minutes instead of seconds.
Leave the phone cord unplugged when you switch on the printer.
Why?
If the Restart doesn't work, at least the phone line won't be tied in knots (perhaps not the problem anyway, but "just in case").
If the Restart does work, but the whole thing repeats when you do reconnect everything and try again - consider that phone number might not be what you think (fax line capable) and / or there might be something going on with that particular phone connection.

Thank You Dragon-Fur for your prompt reply.
I had tried many of your suggestions, particularly restarting with disconnecting the phone, pulling the power cord with the machine both turned on and turned off, and waiting more than 30 minutes before reconnecting the power, etc.
I unplugged the machine and gave up last night . I forgot to note whether the machine was powered on /off when I unplugged it. This morning I disconnected everything (internet cable, direct connect from the computer, phone in and phone out). It was a totally standalone machine except wirelessly which was not enabled. Magically, it restarted and I was able to close the machine display screen. It is currently operational.
The world is good again. I really appreciate you help.

You are welcome.
Well, if several minutes might do it, then overnight is better, yes?
Sometimes we just have to walk away.
I am glad it is resolved.
Happy 4th! In spite of all the trouble in the world, we persevere!
Stay Safe.
