I may not understand the question.

I think you are saying:

  1. My fax machine will not stop redialing a fax number when sending a fax.
  2. My fax machine does not allow me to cancel an in-progress fax job.

1. Set Redial Options

Shut off the Redial options.  User Guide > Page 79

2. Cancel Fax

What you do depends on what is going on.

For example,

  • If you are reprinting faxes from memory, tap the red X button while the faxes are printing.
  • If your printer is printing unwanted faxes, and if you subscribe to a caller ID service, and if you are in a country that supports the feature, you can block particular fax numbers using the Junk Fax Blocker.  The feature, if it is available, is explained in the User Guide on page 70.  Note that blocking unwanted faxes is not "cancel" - the option, if it is available to you, can help detect and block unwanted faxes before they print.
  • If your printer supports Digital Fax, you can have the incoming faxes sent to email (if the feature is supported) or to a network folder.  The setup is explained in the User Guide on page 71.  NOTE:  For those printers that support both the Digital Fax for email and for network folder, only one option can be used at a time - you may set up one option or the other.  This feature does not prevent unwanted faxes - the option is meant to keep the printer from using paper.  Reminder:  The feature may only work with black/white faxes.  Read the manual for details / restrictions.
  • If you are sending a fax from the printer and you are desperate to stop that fax, try switching off the printer, opening / lifting the top cover.  Not great options but it might stop / break the connection.
  • If you are sending a fax from the software on your computer, simply interrupt the software you are using to send the fax.  For example, click "Close" or try aborting the menu / window using the "X" in the corner of the menu.  Not great - but a Restart of the computer should "clean up" any left over program trauma.
  • Truly desperate?  Unplug the  phone line from the back of the printer.  Poof.  Connection broken.  Pages that are not already sent / received should abort.  As long as the Redial option is shut off, reconnecting the phone line should not trigger a "resend".
