Fax not working

I have a HP Laserjet Pro MFP428 and I have run a test fax and everything says it is ok and hooked up, but when I try to send a fax, the number dials, you hear the phone ring, the fax dial tone or screech, but only for a split second, not like regular faxes that screech for several seconds. I have received two error codes, a 322 and 344 and the report says the fax did not complete.

Looking for help to resolve this issue.

322 is likely due to noise on the line

344 is caused by remote fax not responding properly or interference on the line.

First step to try and resolve is to turn off error correction mode for the fax.
