My all in one print is connected to a landline and can send and receive faxes. I want to forward my faxes to email, but don't want to have to keep my computer on to do so, as the digital faxing instructions state to do. It would also be nice to not have to keep the printer on to receive faxes.
My questions:
1. Can I receive digital faxes via email without leaving my computer on? If so how?
2. Can I receive digital faxes via email without leaving my printer on? If so how?
3. When on, can my printer receive faxes and store them instead of printing right away? If so how do I configure?
4. When off, can my printer receive the faxes and store them so that when I turn the printer back on it starts to print out any faxes that we received throughout the day? If so, how do I configure?

No.
An HP Officejet Pro 6830 printer only supports digital fax to PC, meaning to receive the faxes to a local folder on your PC, not to an email.
1. The computer must remain on for the feature to work.
2. The printer must be on. if the printer is off the fax will not answer the call.
3. That can be configured from your computer, from the HP Officejet Pro 6830 software click Digital Fax Setup Wizard and follow the steps on screen to activate the feature, you may select not to print incoming faxes. note that incoming faxes will be saved on a folder on your PC, not in your email.
4. As for number 2, faxes will not be recieved with the printer off, as the fax would be off to and won't answer the incoming fax.
