I want to fax from my printer but I no longer have a land line.

 

Can I fax from my printer using my internet router instead of a land line?

The printer requires the landline to fax.

You can instead fax electronically.

 

HP Mobile Fax has been in "Trial" mode for a number of years.

During this time, the service is free to use.

Thanks for the info on HP Smart. I did find it already and have used it for several faxes but then it stopped working. I couldn't fax anything.

I tried rebooting it. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Nothing worked.

If there is a trick to getting HP Smart to work, I'd love to use it again.  If there is a "paid" version, I'd like to know about that too.

The Mobile Fax did (last year?) develop a problem when it hit the trail two-year use limit.

 

That is, if you (the customer) had been using the app for two years, it would stop working having hit the "end of trial" marker.

 

The solution was built into the app to keep it from failing for that reason.

 

Check your Mobile Fax account for start / end dates.

 

  • The fix for the app losing access after your trial end date is reached should be applied automatically.

Note

  • You might need to restart your device or sign out and then sign back in to your Mobile Fax account.

 

 

What else?

 

A "general" rule of behavior requires that where ever the HP Smart is installed, the version of HP Smart must be the latest version for that platform.  

 

IF you have not done so,

Make sure HP Smart is the latest version on any / all device(s) where the app is installed.

 

Next,

Try using a different device.

 

No Joy?

 

We (not-HP) don't have any internal access to the app and Trial software is not supported beyond making it available.

 

If there is any change to the "Trial" status, we are supposed to be notified and offered a paid option.

In so much that I'm aware, I've received no such offer -- we are still "Trial"

 

I will forward the concern to our Moderators --

I haven't been on HP Smart for 2 years as I just went on it in the last couple of months.

 

I'll give the other suggestions a try. Thanks for the lead on how to get this working.
