Has anyone used HP Smart to fax a file from iCloud Drive? I want to use the Mobile Fax function in HP Smart on iOS. I press Compose New Fax, enter To & From, and tap Files and Cover Page. Under Add your Files I tap the Files and Photos icon. My file is in iCloud Drive which isn't listed in the dropdown menu. I tap Other and enter Name: "iCloud", User Name: (my iCloud user name), Password: (my iCloud password), Server URL: "https:www.icloud.com". I tap Done and get a popup saying "Cannot add account. Check the server URL and your network settings". I've tried variations of the URL such as: http, deleting www, icloud.com/iclouddrive, and get the same result.

Hi @SmokeyAK
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're trying to fax a file stored in your iCloud Drive using the HP Smart app's Mobile Fax feature on your iOS device, but you're encountering issues with adding iCloud as a file source. Unfortunately, the HP Smart app does not support adding iCloud Drive directly as a file source by using the manual server settings you’ve tried.
Here’s what you can do to successfully fax a file from your iCloud Drive:
Steps to Fax a File from iCloud Using HP Smart:
Open HP Smart App:
- Launch the HP Smart app on your iPhone or iPad.
Select Mobile Fax:
- Tap the Mobile Fax icon (this may be labeled as "Send a Fax" or something similar depending on your version of the app).
Enter Fax Information:
- In the To and From fields, enter the required fax numbers.
Adding Files from iCloud:
When you reach the Add Files step, instead of manually adding iCloud through the "Other" option, do the following:
- Tap the "Files" button that allows you to select files.
- Browse to iCloud Drive: You should see iCloud Drive listed as an available location, similar to how other apps access iCloud files.
- Navigate to your iCloud Drive and select the file you want to fax.
- Check iCloud settings: Make sure that your iCloud Drive is enabled on your device.
- Use the Files App: If iCloud is not appearing directly in the HP Smart app, open the Files app on your iOS device. You should be able to locate the document you want to fax in the iCloud Drive section there. After selecting the document, tap Share and look for the HP Smart app option in the share sheet. From there, you can send the document via the Mobile Fax feature.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
