Hi @PrinceOfPrints,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP Scan app is designed to integrate with traditional desktop email clients, which can sometimes limit compatibility with PWAs like Outlook (PWA). Unfortunately, many HP scanning applications may not natively support PWAs as default email clients, even if set as the system default.

Here are a few potential workarounds.

Check for HP Software Updates: Ensure that both your printer firmware and the HP software are updated. Newer updates might include better compatibility with modern apps and PWAs.

Set up a "Scan to Email" Shortcut:

  • Use the HP Smart app, which has a cloud-based "Scan to Email" feature. This doesn’t rely on a local email client and can be configured to send scans directly through the cloud using email details.
  • Open the HP Smart app, select "Scan," then "Share," and select "Email" to configure the desired email address.

Use Microsoft Outlook Desktop Integration:

  • If any shared computers have licensed Outlook Desktop, consider setting up HP Scan on these workstations to route emails through Outlook. The HP Scan app should detect the full Outlook client as an option.

Scan and Save: For users with access to only the PWA, another option is to save the scanned files locally, then manually attach them through the Outlook (PWA) interface. While this is less automated, it ensures compatibility with the tools you’re using.

If none of these approaches are suitable, third-party scanning tools like NAPS2 (Not Another PDF Scanner 2) might offer custom workflows and email routing that could support PWAs indirectly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
