Cannot use printer.  Scanner error message 13 HELP

  • Restart the printer: Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Turn on the printer and check if the error persists.
  • Check connections: Ensure that all cables connecting the printer to the computer or network are securely plugged in. Verify that the printer is connected to a stable power source.
  • Update firmware: Visit the HP support website and search for the latest firmware update for your printer model. If an update is available, follow the instructions provided to install it. Firmware updates often address known issues and can help resolve errors.
  • Reset the printer: Perform a power reset by turning off the printer, disconnecting the power cord, and holding the power button down for about 15 seconds. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Hi this did not work.  I cannot update and get the following error message.

 

“HP Firmware Updater” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.

 

Please advise since I have not been able to use this printer for over 2 months now.
