HP 3830 - how do I reduce the size of a scanned document file when it comes through to my PC as PDF?

When scanning a document to save and attach to an email later the size of the document is very large. A 3 page document of just text came through at over 5Mb.

How do I make the file size smaller when I am scanning?

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Reduce the resolution is one way to get a smaller file size.

1. From the HP Scan, click on "More" - top right hand.

2. Go to "Image" and select a lower Resolution (e.g. 75 or 100 ppi)

3. Scan and save, it should be of a smaller file.

Else, use some PDF compression online to reduce the file size.
