Hi
I have just replaced my old HP cheapie all in one printer with an HP ENVY 6032e.
The new printer is all connected up ok with Wi-fi ok and I have installed HP Smart ok.
And yes, from HP Smart I can scan one page only from the glass to a Non-searchable PDF onto my desktop.
But, there are simply no options offered anywhere to scan multiple pages, nor to scan to a searchable PDF.
Nor any options to SAVE as searchable PDF.
Notes:
(1) If HP Smart *Advance* - note the *Advance* - is the solution, where exactly can I download it.
It is not in the MS Store, nor HP websites)
(2) This model, 6032e, has no Auto Doc Feeder. So there is no option given to scan from there i.e. as multi-pages.
So how can I do a "Book Scan" of multiple pages to a searchable PDF file like I have been doing with
cheapie HP All in ones for 15 years? .
Thanks Martin.

Hi Martin,
The software provided for your device does not include OCR functionality
As you may find listed within the Scanning Specification, text files as TXT or RTF and Searchable PDF are not supported by the HP software:
https://www.hp.com/gb-en/shop/Product.aspx?id=2K4U8B&opt=687&sel=PRN
You may use any 3rd part OCR solution to scan as editable text.
If you have Microsoft Office suite there is a good chance the office suite provides this kind of capabilities:
Office 2007 or 2010:
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/14595/ocr-anything-with-onenote-2007-and-2010/
Office 2003:
http://agsci.psu.edu/it/how-to/perform-ocr-with-microsoft-office-2003-document-imaging
You may also try the 3rd party NAPS2 application which provides basic OCR capabilities:
https://www.naps2.com/doc-ocr.html
For scanning multiple pages, you would need to manually replace the original and scan the next page, once you are done with the scan job save the changes, you would see a plus sign below the scan preview to scan the next page, whenever the scan resolution is set to 300 DPI or a lower value.

Shlomi
