Error message received whenever I try to scan. Going through the HP Solution Centre it shows an error 8,[ (4, 0 -2147417851)]
I have rebooted and reinstalled software - the only way I can scan is by running the HP Print and Scan Doctor and using the document I want to scan as the 'test' scan. Then it works fine. But the moment I want to scan another document - either on the glass or through the feeder - it comes up with the above error.

HI,
Thanks for using the forum.
Can you try this :
HP Scan Extended
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
Let us know if that works.

Hi @RA-RA
Thanks for using the HP forum.
One reason for that message is that your printer is not on the network.
Can you run the HP Print Scan Doctor?
Please Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR) tool to diagnose and fix your problem
