HP 6975 OfficeJet Pro just stopped recognizing the flatbed scanner.

I have a 2017 HP OFFICEJET PRO 6975 All In One Printer.  It has been an excellent piece of equipjment for my home business.  My printer is 18 months old and just tonight it stopped scanning from the flat bed.  If I place paper on the flatbed and press scan on the front panel, I get an error on my MAC saying that there is nothing in the Sheet Feeder.  Then a minute later, I get an error on the printer saying it can not connect to the computer.  If I go through my MAC and use Easy Scanner, I can scan from the flatbed or feeder, but I cannot do multiple pages like this.

I have hard booted the computer and printer, I have factory reset the printer and re-installed to network, etc.....I disconnected all cables prior to booting both devices.  Deleted old software and re-installed.  Still getting the sheet feeder empty error.  Any way to fix this so it scans off the flatbed?

I understand the inconvenience caused. I would recommend you to go through a similar post that speaks about the scanning issues after Mac OS update.

Also, try using the HP Smart App to scan. Refer to the document HP Printers - Using the HP Smart App (Mac) for help.

This did not work.  It is definitely after I upgraded the OS to the new iOS upgrade.  After that it stopped working.  My wife's' computer was not upgraded yet and it works fine on hers....
