In system preferneces, Printers and Scanners, Scan, Open Scanner ... window appears blank with no scan at all.

Troubleshooting Blank Scanner Window on HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e with macOS Monterey

If the scanner window appears blank when attempting to scan from your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e on macOS Monterey, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Scan Using HP Easy Scan

Download and Install HP Easy Start:

• Go to 123.hp.com.
• Enter your printer model number (OfficeJet Pro 8025e).
• Click Install HP Easy Start to download and install the HP Easy Start utility.

Launch HP Easy Scan:

• Place the item you want to scan on the scanner glass or load it into the automatic document feeder (ADF).
• From the Applications folder or Dock, select HP Easy Scan.

Initiate a Scan:

Select the printer from the Scanner drop-down list.

Select the scan type from the Presets menu.

Click Scan.

To preview or modify the scanned image, click the thumbnail or Edit.

To save the scanned image, click Send and then select Folder.

Use Apple Image Capture

Scan using Apple Image Capture:

• Place the item you want to scan on the scanner glass or ADF.
• From the Applications folder or Dock, click Image Capture.
• Select your printer from the Device list.
• Click Show Details and adjust settings as needed.
• Make sure to select either Flatbed mode or Document Feeder mode.
• Click Scan.

Verify the eSCL setting:

• Ensure that your HP multifunction printer has eSCL capability enabled for scanning over AirPrint in macOS 12.0.

Additional Scanning Options
